Concert of Portuguese Classic Music, San Jose - June 8

At 3:00 p.m. Concert of Portuguese Classic Music, at Five Wounds Portuguese National Church, 1375 E. Santa Clara Street, San Jose. The Mission Chamber Orchestra of San Jose, with its renowned conductor, Emily Ray, will interpret Portuguese Music from the XIX and XX centuries. The soprano will be Ms. Elizabeth Medeiros Hogue, who was born in San Jose of Portuguese parents, and attended Five Wounds Catholic School. Ms. Hogue is now living in the East Coast, where she has performed in various operas in the New England States and Canada.

Dia de Portugal Festival, San Jose - June 14

From 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The annual Dia de Portugal Festival will take place at History Park San Jose, (Kelley Park), 1650 Senter Road, San Jose, CA. There will be a Parade at noon, Philharmonic Bands, Portuguese Folklore and Brazilian Dancing, Food from Portugal, Azores, Madeira, Macau and Brazil. Children's Carnival, Portuguese Artists' Exhibition, Portuguese Book Faire and Portuguese Cooking Demonstrations. A full day of fun and entertainment for all ages.
